Built in 1924 after the great fire, Joyland Theatre began as Hirtle’s Theatre, showing silent films with live piano. Renamed by Leonard Larson after his children Joy and Lanny, it’s been family-run for generations. Updated with digital projection and Dolby sound, Joyland remains a beloved historic landmark in downtown Strathmore.
